As well as offering award-winning university event resources for secondary schools and colleges, UniTasterDays also deliver informative, interactive and independent university workshops for your school groups. You can find out more about these workshops below, or by downloading the workshop flyer (PDF, 2MB).

These aspirational workshops are delivered by university experts with enhanced DBS disclosure and a wealth of references available.

We make university-learning fun and engaging for your school groups

Workshops are available for groups of up to 40 students – and are offered for students in year groups ranging from Year 7, right through to Year 13. They can be delivered as one-off interventions, or as part of a year-long school aspiration raising project. We can also deliver to full year groups, but smaller sessions are recommended for maximum interactivity and impact.

Sessions have both an aspirational and motivational structure, which ensures students leave the session knowing why university may be a great future choice for them and how they can prepare for their future university decisions right away. They are designed to engage students and include interactive games and group exercises throughout, using interactive technology where possible, such as voting clickers.

The exercises and content are created bespoke for each year group, and generally include introducing students to university courses and applications, student life, making university-ready option choices, personal statements, university fees, finance and future earning potential.

Impact and evaluation

The workshops can be fully evaluated on request, and an impact report provided after the session. This data can be used as an evidence base in terms of the impact of this intervention for school improvement purposes, Ofsted inspections and evidence of activity relating to Gatsby Benchmark 7 and higher education encounters for your students.

The evaluation is very worthwhile - it gives us a good starting-point for conversations with students to focus efforts on those areas where they are still unsure. We are also able to use the results within the annual report to advise our progress under our aspirations programme.

Please note: the impact report needs to be booked in advance and costs apply.

A press release can also be sent to the local press after each session, to benefit from great publicity for your school as well.

Just some of our feedback...

A successful and very informative presentation to our Year 11 students, with lots of useful advice for them to act on now and going forward.

An informative and provoking workshop which motivated the students to really think about the possibility of going to university in the future.

An engaging session which kept the students interested and increased awareness of a number of issues. Well organised and thoroughly professional.

The interactive presentation helped to inspire our young people and helped them to understand the importance of choosing the right GCSE's and introduced the idea of university afterwards. Highly recommended.

They are still talking about how useful the talks were, and I am delighted that they got the chance to actually begin some work on a personal statement - marvellous.

I would not change a thing. It was brilliant.
